📖 History & Description

Gurdwara Nanak Jhira Sahib in Bidar is an important southern pilgrimage site for Sikhs. Local tradition holds that Guru Nanak visited the location and that a spring of fresh water miraculously appeared there (the 'jhira'). The modern gurdwara complex was constructed in the 20th century and includes the sanctum, langar facilities and guest lodging for pilgrims. It functions as the focal point of Sikh religious life in the Deccan region and preserves relics and plaques describing Guru Nanak's visit.
