📖 History & Description

Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib stands on a hillock in Anandpur Sahib and comprises fort remains and gurdwara buildings commemorating the creation of the Khalsa Panth in 1699. Guru Gobind Singh fortified Anandpur and the fort (Kesgarh Qila) was central to the community's defense. The modern complex preserves relics, weapons and inscriptions and hosts large gatherings during major Sikh festivals (especially Vaisakhi). The architecture blends defensive fortification traces with devotional spaces, sarovars and museums that display Khalsa-era artifacts.
